About The Position

The Cigna Group Operations Leadership Development Program is a 3-year, full-time rotational program designed for recent graduates or early-career individuals seeking to apply academic knowledge in a real-world setting within a Fortune 500 healthcare leader. The program supports the transition from academia to industry by offering rotations through operations-focused roles that impact client, customer, and provider experiences. These rotations may involve analytics, reporting, project management, process improvement, stakeholder engagement, technical initiatives, governance, strategic planning, and leadership development. Associates can function as individual contributors leading projects and improvements, or as people leaders overseeing teams and performance. Areas of exposure include Customer & Client Service Operations, Provider Solutions, Strategy, Enablement & Operational Support, and Core Operations Improvement and Delivery. The program also includes a New Hire Onboarding & Learning Series, Offsite Events, Workgroup Involvement, Mentorship Programming, and Networking opportunities to foster development and prepare associates for leadership roles within the organization.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, Healthcare Administration or related business field or relevant professional / hands-on experience required.
  • At least one internship or relevant experience in business operations, analytics, process improvement, or a related area.
  • Demonstrated leadership through work, student organizations, athletics, or community involvement.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to collaborate, influence, and communicate effectively across teams.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving results through collaboration.
  • Eligible for employment in the United States and would not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Support critical operational processes that impact end-to-end client/customer/provider experiences
  • Create reliable reporting and dashboards that provide visibility into operational processes and performance
  • Influence partners and build alignment across a matrixed environment
  • Support governance, performance management, and operational planning activities
  • Improve processes through project leadership, team leadership, or operational execution
  • Lead or support teams responsible for delivering operational outcomes
  • Manage and execute on programs and projects aligned with enterprise objectives
  • Apply project management, continuous improvement, and, where applicable, Agile methodologies to gain efficiency, reduce operating expenses, or improve customer experience
  • Create recommendations based on data-driven insights, reporting, and analytics
  • Gain experience in statistical process control, operational measurement, and performance improvement practices
  • Partner with stakeholders across functions to solve business problems and implement sustainable solutions
  • Support technical, reporting, automation, or analytics-focused work depending on rotation placement and business need
  • Oversee critical business processes and lead teams
  • Manage relationships with global service partners
  • Lead efforts to automate processes and manage bot technology
  • Contribute to overall strategic roadmap planning for client, customer, and provider workstreams
  • Drive collaboration, influence, and execution across matrixed teams
