About The Position

The Operations Lead is a member of the store leadership team responsible for driving and coaching profitability and efficiency. Working closely with Operations and Visual Managers, this role initiates and delegates work and provides team feedback to support effective store operations. The position involves constant movement throughout the store, including the sales floor and back of house, and taking initiative to keep the store clean, safe, inviting, and efficient when not assisting guests. The Operations Lead oversees inventory management and operational processes, supports business performance through metrics and resource management, and leads the Operations Associates through recruitment, development, and ongoing feedback. The role collaborates with store leaders and cross-functional partners to execute operational directives, projects, and initiatives, and opens and closes the store according to back-of-house standards. Full-time employees are expected to be available for opening, closing, and weekend shifts, which may change based on business needs. Employees are also expected to be available from the week of Black Friday through the end of the holiday season, in the first week of January.

Requirements

At least 2 years of prior work experience in a client-centric sales environment.
Proven leadership capabilities and excellent decision-making.
Values feedback, is receptive to receiving it, and is eager to provide feedback.
Self-motivated, with a desire to achieve results and excel individually and as part of a team.
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
Aligns with and embodies ALO’s Guiding Principles.
Requires constant movement throughout all areas of the store.
Ability to lift, push, carry, or otherwise move up to 50 pounds.
Ability to lift, bend, kneel, climb, crawl, and/or twist, and safely climb up and down a ladder.
Ability to stand and move for an entire shift.
Full-time availability for opening, closing, and weekend shifts, as well as the holiday period from the week of Black Friday through the first week of January.

Responsibilities

Lead and execute inventory management processes to maximize inventory accuracy and reduce shrink.
Investigate root causes of inventory accuracy issues and partner with the General Manager to escalate process or system gaps.
Manage shipment, receiving and processing, reverse transfers, sales floor recovery, intraday replenishment, floor-set updates, and supply management.
Champion strong visual standards on the sales floor.
Support a safe work environment and efficient operations through strong stockroom standards and processes.
Partner with Operations and Visual Managers to manage reporting, budgets, expenses, inventory control, supplies, vendor relationships, technology, and facilities.
Use business metrics to support strategies that drive business results.
Move dynamically around the retail floor to assess and fulfill the needs of the business, team, and guests.
Lead by example and inspire staff in daily operations and guest experience.
Directly oversee Operations Associates, including recruiting and developing talent.
Use company performance tools to evaluate Operations Associates and provide ongoing feedback to support individual growth and improvement in partnership with the store leader.
Collaborate with the Visual Lead on cross-functional training and with the Sales and Service Lead to support business execution.
Execute company-level operations directives, projects, and initiatives with the management team to achieve goals and KPIs.
Open and close the store in accordance with back-of-house standards.
Take initiative to perform tasks that help keep the store clean, safe, inviting, and operating efficiently.
