About The Position

The Operations Intern will gain hands-on experience across warehouse operations, transportation, maintenance, quality, planning, engineering, and supply chain strategy at Performance Food Group. The intern will contribute to a meaningful business project and help improve processes and metrics supporting the safe and efficient movement of products from the warehouse to customers. The role includes working with leaders across the organization and learning how operating models work across Performance Foodservice, Vistar, and Core-Mark. The internship runs from June 2027 through August 2027, is in person in Florence, South Carolina, and pays $22 per hour. It is intended for rising juniors or seniors pursuing a related field of study.

Requirements

Must be located within commuting distance of 30 miles.
Be a rising junior or rising senior.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include early mornings, evenings, or weekends.
Authorized to work in the United States for any employer.

Nice To Haves

Be a rising senior.
Minimum GPA of 3.0.
Major in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Industrial Engineering, Hospitality & Tourism Management, Engineering, or a related field.

Responsibilities

Gain exposure to warehouse operations, maintenance, quality, planning, transportation engineering, and supply chain strategy.
Support quality and food safety activities, including risk assessments, audits, process improvement, and issue management.
Assist with analysis and development of supply chain metrics and business processes.
Learn how operating models work across Performance Foodservice, Vistar, and Core-Mark.
Present project findings and recommendations to business leaders.
