About The Position

Black & McDonald’s Shared Services team is growing! If you are an analytical and collaborative professional searching for the opportunity to build a solid foundation for your career, this position is for you. This is a highly visible role that requires strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage internal stakeholders and strict deadlines. The Operations Finance Coordinator will be based at our VAUGHAN field location initially and will report directly to the Director, Finance and Administration.

Requirements

  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office/Excel and ERP systems.
  • 1–3 years’ experience in billing, project accounting, or similar accounting roles.
  • Basic understanding of end-to-end financial processes.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proven ability to support operational teams.
  • A Criminal Background Check and Professional Reference Check will be required as part of our employment screening and selection process.
  • All applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with JD Edwards is considered an asset.
  • Experience in the construction industry or adjacent industries would be an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Compare actuals to budget and forecasted costs, update monthly and quarterly job reports.
  • Review and assist with the reconciliation of purchase orders
  • Assist with monthly job forecast updates and entering productivity data
  • Code and reconcile payments within JD Edwards
  • Prepare and issue accurate customer invoices, follow up on client approvals
  • Prepare documentation to support Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable activities
  • Demonstrate a self-staring approach with a high level of accuracy
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Assist in gathering supporting documents for customer billing (AR) and vendor payments (AP).
  • Liaise with the project management team, vendors and other staff as required.
  • Monthly review of job cost activity, ensuring consistent and proper coding
