About The Position

The Operations Facility Manager oversees the daily operations of propane distribution and storage facilities, ensuring safe, efficient operations and compliance with applicable regulations. The role manages facility infrastructure, personnel, inventory, equipment, budgets, safety practices, and communication with company teams and external stakeholders. It also reports on facility performance and compliance and recommends operational improvements.

Requirements

High school diploma required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the propane or energy industry.
Strong understanding of propane storage, handling, and safety regulations, including DOT, OSHA, and NFPA.
Leadership experience managing teams in an industrial or operational setting.
Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Knowledge of facility maintenance, inventory management, and equipment management.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and a focus on safety and compliance.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with facility management software or ERP systems.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to respond effectively and calmly to emergencies or urgent situations.
Ability to work in a facility environment with exposure to propane, hazardous materials, and outdoor weather conditions.
Ability to lift occasionally, bend, and walk around the facility.
Ability to work extended hours or be on-call as needed for emergencies or operational demands.

Responsibilities

Oversee the day-to-day operations of propane distribution and storage facilities, including tanks, equipment, and infrastructure.
Ensure facilities comply with local, state, and federal regulations regarding propane storage, handling, and safety.
Maintain facility cleanliness, organization, and security; conduct regular inspections and audits.
Lead, mentor, and manage facility personnel, including operations staff, technicians, and support teams.
Develop and implement staff training focused on safety, operational procedures, and regulatory compliance.
Schedule and supervise the workforce; provide performance feedback, conduct evaluations, and promote employee development.
Manage propane inventory to ensure adequate supply and reduce waste or shortages.
Oversee maintenance and servicing of propane storage tanks, pumps, and related equipment.
Maintain documentation and records of propane deliveries, usage, and storage.
Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for equipment, maintenance, and propane replenishment.
Enforce safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and environmental guidelines; investigate incidents and address hazards.
Ensure personnel have and properly use personal protective equipment (PPE).
Prepare for and manage safety drills and emergency response training.
Assist with facility budgets and monitor operating, maintenance, and staffing costs; implement cost-saving measures without compromising safety or efficiency.
Collaborate with the corporate operations team and liaise with local authorities, regulatory bodies, and emergency services.
Maintain communication with departments to support smooth operations and timely problem resolution.
Submit regular reports on operations, safety compliance, and performance metrics to senior management.
Identify operational improvement opportunities and make recommendations.
