Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Management required, or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
  • Several years of manufacturing management experience, preferably wire manufacturing.
  • Effective computer skills.
  • Strong managerial and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong negotiating skills.
  • Excellent communication skills – written, verbal and presentation; demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff, management, and vendors, persuade and collaborate with team and peers.
  • Understanding and implementation skills of IATF16949.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead an organization.
  • Team oriented individual.
  • Ability to think strategically.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s in Management or Business preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all manufacturing equipment and property management.
  • Direct and lead the plant and equipment strategic organization for success.
  • Reviews the operations of plant equipment and systems constantly to minimize unplanned downtime.
  • Solve issues in a timely manner and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Initiates, implements, and manages the plant maintenance program based on best practices in the steel and wire industry. With an emphasis on planning/scheduling and preventive/predictive maintenance.
  • Implement and monitor budgets, labor efficiency, material usage, engineering, safety and environmental, and delivery standards.
  • Manage a staff of individuals directly responsible for maintenance.
  • Ensures standards of safety are developed, met and maintained: lock out/tag out procedures, start- up/shut down procedures, confined spaces training, etc.
  • Complete 90 days and annual performance reviews for maintenance staff.
  • Approve all purchase orders and invoices for accounting to process.
  • Develop and monitor preventive maintenance program.
  • Establishes and maintains tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of plant equipment.
  • Monitors use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment and initiates ordering when necessary.
  • Communicates regularly with maintenance, individually or as a group to communicate concerning maintenance issues.
  • Ensure maintenance team are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated to accomplish assigned work orders to be completed safely, timely, and cost-effective manner.
  • Leads planning and implementing plant improvements, shutdowns, and expansions.
  • Ensures city, county, state, and federal regulations relating to facilities, operations and logistics are met at all times.
  • Management of any contractors and services required by O&k. Includes but not limited to: vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Assure that plant is kept clean and organized, maintaining a safe and orderly workplace.
  • Other duties as assigned.
