This role involves working independently with internal and external engineering teams to successfully deliver high-quality, cross-functional projects. The position requires partnering with project managers and external vendors to set priorities, establish milestones, and drive schedules. Responsibilities include influencing technical documentation, performing documentation reviews, and analyzing system layouts and solutions. The engineer will represent system and/or equipment designs to customers and other teams, communicate project status, answer questions in detail, and provide clear summaries to leadership. Building strong working relationships with vendors, engineers, managers, and peers is essential. The role also includes participating in design reviews, supporting execution efforts between internal teams and outside vendors (equipment specifications, material flow, process design, site layout), and managing budget documents, change order controls, purchase orders, and invoicing. Building strong working relationships with FC/SC leadership and their operations teams across multiple sites, as well as with Launch, Facilities, Finance, Safety, Process Engineers, and other business stakeholders, is key. The role also entails identifying and leading process improvement initiatives to support operations teams within a geographic node. This is a travel-based role, with applicants expected to travel upwards of 75% or more across North America to meet project requirements. Project durations can range from a few days to several months, with travel across the US and potential for some international work.
