As a member of the Radiation Monitoring Systems (RMS) group in Atlanta, the Operations Engineer provides engineering and technical support for Mirion's Radiation Monitoring Systems. The role focuses on product configuration, post-production verification, FAT/SAT execution, commissioning, customer training, troubleshooting, RMAs, Commercial Grade Dedication activities, and ongoing operational support. It works closely with Project Engineering, Project Management, Quality, Design Engineering, Application Engineering, Manufacturing, and technical specialists. The engineer independently executes standard Operations Engineering work while developing technical specialization and leadership capability. Specialist areas may include RMS software configuration and parameterization, automation and I/O logic, testing methods, advanced troubleshooting, CGD and MPE testing, equipment qualification, radiation or seismic assessments, MCNP or other radiation-transport analysis, radiation safety, irradiator operation, and other formally assigned RMS specialties. The engineer develops the ability to explain methods and results, maintain controlled documentation, recognize limitations, and escalate work requiring higher technical authority. Depending on demonstrated capability and career interests, progression may lead toward Operations Engineer III or Lead Engineer on a technical path, or toward engineering management or other technical functions.
