Requirements

High School diploma or GED.
Must possess a valid North Carolina Class “C” driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and the ability to maintain insurability by ILM.
Must also be qualified to obtain a North Carolina Class “A” driver’s license.
Must be able to react quickly and calmly in emergencies.
Must be able to physically perform basic functions of sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling and lifting.

Nice To Haves

Previous dispatcher experience is preferred.
Airline or aviation-related experience is also preferred.
Some college

Responsibilities

Answer all incoming emergency and non-emergency calls to the Public Safety Office and dispatch information and personnel accordingly.
Maintain department files and keep computer entries up to date.
Monitor airport security cameras and access control system and dispatch officers or operations personnel to alarms.
Maintain radio communications with all airport staff as required.
Perform all emergency related duties as required.
Serve as TSA Trusted Agents as required.
Understand all internal as well as external airport customers, know who they are, and anticipate and meet their expectations through quality service in accordance with the airport Mission, Values and Vision.
