About The Position

Oak View Group is hiring a part-time Operations Crew member at the Tsongas Center (UMass Lowell). This physically demanding role supports arena operations through hands-on event setup, conversions, facility maintenance, and event breakdown. Primary work includes converting the ice surface to temporary flooring, setting up and striking stages, and preparing the venue for games and other events. The position pays $18.75 per hour and will remain open until December 31, 2026. Part-time benefits include a 401(k) savings plan and 401(k) matching. The role requires a flexible schedule that may include days, nights, weekends, and overnight shifts.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes days, nights, and weekends; shifts regularly occur overnight.
Ability to complete labor-intensive tasks in a fast-paced environment, independently and as part of structured teams, while meeting deadlines.
Ability to lift heavy objects unaided and climb stairs frequently.
Willingness to learn and actively participate in all aspects of event changeovers.
Steel-toe boots are required for safety.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in event conversions, general labor, or facility maintenance.

Responsibilities

Perform general labor, repairs, and maintenance throughout the arena as assigned.
Build changeovers and conversions for various events.
Set up and break down chairs, tables, event seating, stages, hockey dasher boards, glass, and other event components.
Lift, move, and secure heavy materials during event transitions.
Care for arena equipment and property by storing equipment appropriately.
Clean and repair damaged items.
Keep storage areas organized and ensure equipment is accessible and in working order.
Perform snow removal, including shoveling sidewalks, parking areas, entrances, and loading docks.
Perform other labor-intensive duties as assigned.
