About The Position

The Operations Coordinator-Engineering serves as a key operational resource within the Technical team, providing comprehensive administrative and operational support across all aspects of fleet management. The role is responsible for monitoring vessel activities, maintaining accurate departmental records and documentation, coordinating spare parts procurement / logistics, and supporting warehousing / delivery activities. Working closely with the Engineering, Purchasing and Operations teams, the Operations Coordinator helps ensure that materials, information, and operational resources are available when needed. The position proactively identifies operational challenges, coordinates solutions, and recommends process improvements that contribute to the safe, reliable, efficient, and cost-effective operation of the company’s managed fleet.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation or equivalent experience within the industry.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and nautical applications like NS, S-Insight.
  • Valid US Passport, TWIC card.
  • Travel to ports and vessels as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Support Vessel Superintendents with day-to-day technical and operational activities, including Service Technician coordination, SPO issuance, bunker sampling, report review, vessel communications, and resolution of technical or operational issues.
  • Provide support during vessel emergencies, drills, and other operational events.
  • Maintain and administer vessel technical documentation and records, including certificates, IHM documentation, plans, vendor drawings, instruction manuals, and other electronic and paper records.
  • Manage document uploads, downloads, distribution, historical versions, and retention within designated virtual platforms and company shared drives.
  • Monitor and maintain vessel technical work items within NSE, including SRs, WOs, NAJs, and SJs.
  • Periodically review outstanding items, coordinate follow-up as necessary, and ensure appropriate closure.
  • Manage vessel property removals and maintain associated documentation and records.
  • Maintain departmental processes, procedures, forms, reports, and related documentation, coordinating revisions and updates as required.
  • Support the Direct Supervisor with the Vendor Management Program and serve as a knowledgeable operational resource to departments throughout the Liberty Organization in support of assigned technical projects and initiatives.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
