The Operations Controller owns inventory costing and valuation, manufacturing variance analysis, portions of the month end close, and participates in the preparation of the annual budget and regular forecasting. Reporting to the VP of Finance, this role is the financial connection between the Chief Operating Officer and Operations team and the general ledger - setting and maintaining standard costs, explaining margin and variance drivers to operations leadership, and ensuring inventory is accurately stated and properly controlled. This is a hands-on leadership role. You will close the books on inventory and cost of goods sold each month, partner with Operations on sourcing and pricing decisions, evaluate productivity initiatives and build the reporting that leadership uses to understand where the company makes and loses money.
