Canteen is looking for a detail-driven Operations Controller to be the financial backbone of our regional operations. In this role, you'll own the accounting activity for your assigned account(s) and serve as a key partner to the Regional Controller, keeping our financial house in order while supporting the fast pace of foodservice operations. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred, or equivalent professional experience
  • 5+ years of experience in revenue control, financial reporting, and cash handling
  • Accounting experience in foodservice or retail required; foodservice operations experience a plus
  • Skilled at preparing financial statements, key metric reports, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow analyses
  • Strong ability to plan, organize, and manage complex financial processes
  • Experience with POS, cash, and credit card reporting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and relationships in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Sharp analytical and organizational instincts
  • Unwavering personal integrity and ethical standards

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all cash handling procedures across assigned accounts
  • Perform reconciliation and analysis for multiple balance sheet accounts
  • Analyze financial results for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Track and maintain monthly P&L and balance sheet activity
  • Develop forecasts and budgets, spotting risks and opportunities along the way
  • Review general ledgers and balance sheets, resolving accounting and reconciliation issues as they arise
  • Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports — including fiscal close and internal/external audit reporting — and manage report preparation and distribution
  • Maintain inventory and cost control procedures
  • Support Payroll and HR administration
  • Take on related duties and special projects as needed
