CONTROLLER / ACCOUNTING & OPERATIONS MANAGER

ECOMOD LLCKyle, TX

About The Position

CTX ProScapes is a Central Texas landscape construction and services company operating across commercial, production residential, and maintenance divisions. We are seeking a hands-on Controller / Accounting & Operations Manager to take ownership of the company’s accounting function and improve the financial processes that support our operations. This is not a CFO role and it is not a traditional back-office accounting position. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working directly in QuickBooks, digging into job-level financial information, managing accounting processes and outsourced accounting support, improving controls, and giving management timely information that can be used to run the business. The position reports directly to the CEO and works closely with the Office Manager and division leadership, but does not supervise the domestic office staff.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within construction, landscaping, contracting, or another project-based business.
  • Prior experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, or Senior Accounting Manager.
  • Strong knowledge of construction/job-cost accounting.
  • Strong understanding of accrual accounting, WIP/percentage-of-completion accounting, retainage, AR/AP, and inventory.
  • Expert-level QuickBooks Online skills and strong Excel / financial-reporting skills.
  • Experience improving accounting systems, workflows, and internal controls.
  • Experience managing accountants, bookkeepers, or outsourced/offshore accounting personnel.
  • Able to work directly in the details while also identifying larger operational and financial issues.
  • Strong communicator capable of working effectively with both ownership and field/operations leadership.
