The Operations Control Specialist will provide confidential administrative support to the Manager, Purchasing & Support Services and provide technical assistance to other key management personnel. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred with concentration in Business Administration, Business Management or Accounting
  • Three to five years of administrative and/or operations experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills and the ability to meet and interact with both internal and external customers.
  • Excellent computer, oral and written communication and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Must be able to exercise initiative and make sound decisions within the scope of assigned authority.
  • Must be able to successfully complete multiple concurrent tasks with strong attention to detail while maintaining confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Learn how to inventory (cycle count)
  • Learn manufacturing – rotation in each manufacturing area, able to explain variances
  • MS DAX basic functions
  • 5S improvements
  • Compile statistical and other required reports
  • Perform data entry and tracking of operational and process improvement involvement
  • Assist with duties and activities relating to ISO, QMS and EMS compliance
  • Develop and maintain SOP’s
  • Develop understanding of Direct Material Process (DMP) – OWE DMP – Packaging & Ingredients
  • Monthly forecasts
  • Weekly release process
  • MRP process
  • Develop understanding of Indirect Material Process (IMP) – OWE CapEx order process, MRO order process and bid process
  • Assist with inventory activities (i.e. cycle counting/verifying counts, investigating inventory issues, month end)
  • Assist with filing and researching information on Claims / POD’s
  • AX implementation to process claims
  • Data Entry Logistics- Dynamics Business Control
  • Assist with month end close
  • Assist w/ Sales and Use Tax reporting
  • Serve as an internal auditor and perform internal QMS and EMS audits
  • Train with QA Technicians to develop understanding of OPQR process
  • Assist in daily departmental responsibilities and duties assigned by Quality Assurance Manager
  • Assist with coordinating employee activities, (i.e. employee meetings/meals/off site activities)
  • Assist with other HR functions as needed, (i.e. preparing employee new hires and benefits open enrollment packages)
  • Assist with mailroom functions and record retention as needed
