About The Position

The Operations Associate serves to support production by monitoring, assessing, and manually controlling with direct physical activity, the chemical and mechanical equipment and process systems in the field to assure the production processes are functioning properly and to continually improve the process and product to achieve excellence in our business.

Requirements

  • Ability to identify, understand the purpose for, and how to start, stop, operate, disable and lock out various types of process equipment such as columns, storage tanks, pumps, valves-control/manual, compressors, and the process flow lines.
  • Basic process chemistry knowledge.
  • Understanding of hazards associated with working with process equipment and chemicals.
  • Ability to make minor decisions that could affect the efficiency and/or accuracy of the work.
  • Ability to use several readily understood rules and procedures.
  • Judgment in the application of established rules and procedures within the limits of standard practices.
  • Ability to perform routine tasks following standard procedures.
  • Ability to perform semi-routine and diversified tasks requiring some judgment.
  • Ability to perform routine verbal and written communications via shift log and shift relief of daily events.
  • Ability to perform routine work following standard practices and procedures under general supervision.
  • Ability to receive more detailed direction from supervision for non-standard conditions.
  • Ability to perform work with general supervision and follow detailed verbal or written procedures.
  • Ability to perform routine work alone from standard practices and procedures under general supervision.
  • Ability to handle non-standard conditions which may require peer to peer direction.
  • Ability to ensure proper safety implementation when permitting work.
  • Ability to perform routine work following standard practices and procedures under general supervision.
  • Ability to receive more detailed written and/or verbal direction for non-standard conditions.
  • Understanding that probable errors in monitoring and sampling would be due to carelessness and usually detected by succeeding operations before becoming serious.
  • Understanding that probable errors in manually adjusting process control variables would be due to carelessness and most likely detected by succeeding operations before becoming serious, potentially resulting in losses of material, minor equipment items, and working time.
  • Understanding that probable errors in preparing equipment for service may result in safety or environmental non-compliance and serious injury and/or equipment damage.
  • Understanding that probable errors in preparing process additives and removal of byproducts would be due to carelessness and usually detected by succeeding operations before becoming serious.
