About The Position

Manages a designated fleet of drivers to safely meet company expectations for driver productivity and asset utilization. The role includes dispatching and routing drivers, monitoring compliance with Department of Transportation regulations, tracking loads through delivery, and resolving service issues. The manager also performs supervisory duties as needed, communicates with drivers to improve productivity and reduce turnover, balances driver time-off requests with operational needs, and travels as needed.

Requirements

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to solve problems and make decisions independently.
Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Bachelor's degree, or three to four years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to sit for prolonged periods while working at a desk and computer.
Ability to lift up to 10 pounds at times.
Ability to travel.

Responsibilities

Perform supervisory responsibilities as needed, including coaching, planning, assigning work, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
Dispatch drivers based on available equipment and load criteria.
Route drivers to specific destinations in accordance with company policies.
Balance driver time-off requests with the operational need to move freight.
Communicate with drivers to optimize productivity and reduce turnover.
Monitor driver logbook hours for compliance with Department of Transportation regulations.
Track loads from dispatch through delivery and resolve service issues.
Travel as needed.
Establish and maintain positive working relationships with others.
Receive and carry out instructions.
Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Perform other duties as assigned.
