About The Position

GDIT and the Fort Wainwright Alaska – Mission Training Complex (FWA-MTC) is seeking qualified candidates for the Mission Training Complex Capabilities Support II (MTCCS II) program. GDIT delivers individual sustainment through collective Mission Command training, Leadership Training / Development, Warfighter Functions (WFF) training, Delta Training, First Person Simulations (Gaming), and constructive simulations supported training. This role involves technical integration between simulation and C4I systems, establishing/maintaining training and exercise networks, and accomplishing Risk Management Framework Certification and Accreditation security and risk management activities. As an Operations and Training Manager, you will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Brigade and above-level operational planning and exercise scenario development, with expert knowledge and experience in Army operations and training, including current military doctrine, tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs), and force structure. You will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the FWA MTC operations and training, working closely with the MTC Government Operations POC and/or Director to ensure government awareness of training and event support requirements, potential changes, and conflicts. The role includes performing scheduling and coordination of MTC resources and the training request process, participating in and leading operations and exercise updates and staff meetings, and planning or participating in Concept Development Conferences, Initial Planning Conferences, Mid Planning Conferences, and Final Planning Conferences for Training Command assigned exercises. You will prepare briefings and other required materials. During event execution, you may serve as a member of the EXCON Cell, Scenario Cell, or Observer Controller-Trainer Cell. This position operates in a highly intense information technology (IT) environment, requiring maximization of Mission Command Systems (MCS), other Battle Command Systems, training aids, devices, simulations and simulators (TADSS), mission-specific digital systems/tools, and other available IT and AI assets. You will also teach, coach, and mentor less experienced professionals/contractors and perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • BS/BA required; U.S. Army MEL IV qualified, equivalent ILE, or senior NCOES preferred.
  • Minimum five years’ experience with Military training and training support operations.
  • Five years of operations and training management experience at Brigade level and above.
  • Three years’ experience, within the last 10 years, with military simulations.
  • Robust understanding of the Mission Command Training Support Program (MCTSP) and MTC Operations.
  • Technical expertise in the Joint Event Life Cycle.
  • Demonstrated proficiency and understanding of MC systems.
  • Expert knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in the development and delivery of Army and Joint training programs.
  • Expert knowledge of the Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP).
  • Knowledge of and experience with emerging mission command technologies (MAVEN, TAK, WINTAK, AIDP).
  • SECRET clearance required.
