About The Position

The Operations Analyst is a key member of Sotheby’s Data & Performance Operations team. The role ensures operational teams have the data, insights, and tools needed to manage performance and monitor activity. It sits at the intersection of operations, analytics, and process improvement, translating business needs into scalable reporting and operational solutions that improve efficiency and support informed decision-making. The analyst partners with regional and global operations teams and product and technology teams to gather business requirements and implement improvements that enhance visibility, productivity, and performance. The role goes beyond reporting: it calls for someone able to understand complex operational processes, identify root causes, and develop practical solutions with measurable impact.

Requirements

2–4 years of experience in operations, consulting, or similar execution-focused roles.
Strong analytical capabilities, a data-driven mindset, and strong problem-solving capability.
Effective communication across functions and levels.
Demonstrated ability to take ownership of projects or workstreams and deliver defined outcomes.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Experience contributing to process improvement, redesign, or operational initiatives.
Experience building dashboards and working with operational data.
Advanced Excel skills required.

Nice To Haves

SQL experience preferred.
Exposure to automation tools, workflow optimization, or AI-enabled processes preferred.

Responsibilities

Partner with operational teams to understand reporting requirements and translate business needs into actionable data solutions.
Develop, maintain, and enhance KPI reporting, dashboards, and performance scorecards.
Ensure stakeholders have timely, accurate, and relevant data to monitor activity and make operational decisions.
Analyze data to identify trends, risks, bottlenecks, and opportunities in operational processes.
Use data-driven insights to support strategic initiatives and continuous improvement.
Identify opportunities to improve data visibility, consistency, and reporting effectiveness across teams.
Identify operational pain points, inefficiencies, and manual workarounds across end-to-end processes.
Analyze processes and data flows to uncover opportunities for optimization and automation.
Support opportunities and solutions that reduce manual effort and help teams focus on higher-value activities.
Support stakeholder alignment through clear, structured communication.
Translate complex analysis into simple, actionable narratives.
Develop materials that support decision-making and track progress against key initiatives.
Communicate changes effectively to support adoption across regions.
