About The Position

Performs responsible, skilled, and technical work in support of the Operations Department. This role involves data management, regulatory filings, inventory control, fleet management, maintenance scheduling, purchasing, customer relations, and other administrative assistance tasks. Future responsibilities will include CMMS deployment, planning, and scheduling.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Possession of an appropriate driver's license valid in the State of South Carolina
  • Ability to read, write, and complete semi-complex mathematical equations; must have a thorough understanding, knowledge, and proficiency at or above the level of high school algebra
  • Ability to communicate clearly and precisely, both verbally and in writing
  • Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Considerable experience in office administration, procurement, and inventory functions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications, including Word and Excel
  • Knowledge and understanding of appropriate safety procedures and ability to respond in emergency situations
  • Knowledge of the safe use, operation, and preventive maintenance of common hand and power tools
  • Knowledge of the safe use, operation, and preventive maintenance of assigned equipment
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment, including climbing ladders

Nice To Haves

  • Two-year or Four-year college degree in Business Administration or another related field
  • Prior work experience in the utility field

Responsibilities

  • Performs data management and filing support for operations, maintenance, and compliance divisions.
  • Assists in the preparation of regulatory filings, including populating spreadsheets, data collection, and mailings.
  • Performs inventory, procurement, and audit functions for operational supplies/equipment, including inventory counts, dispensing supplies, receipt/invoice coding, obtaining quotes, and creating purchase orders.
  • Performs routine assessment of inventory to ensure spare pumps are rotated, including forklift operation and physical rotation of pump/motor shafts.
  • Oversees fleet and major equipment activities, ensuring maintenance schedules are met, monitoring mileage, vehicle use/wear, and assisting with new vehicle/equipment purchases. Also assists with budgets and pricing for annual service contracts.
  • Assists in scheduling required safety training and annual testing, including fire safety/equipment inspections, respirator fit testing, and environmental licensure renewals.
  • Assists in developing and updating maintenance schedules for all fixed assets, including planning/scheduling activities upon CMMS implementation.
  • Assists in emergency response planning and preparedness, including equipment testing and fueling.
  • Assists in updating Operation and Maintenance manuals on a quarterly basis.
  • Performs additional administrative duties as assigned.
  • Performs related tasks as required or assigned.
