About The Position

This role is responsible for processing customer-facing transactions, maintaining data entry standards, troubleshooting issues, preparing reports, managing employee access to banking systems, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The position requires proficiency in Microsoft Office, web browsers, email, Adobe PDF, and other software. The individual will also handle customer inquiries, maintain a professional demeanor, and contribute to a positive work environment. Responsibilities include adhering to laws and regulations related to Anti-Money Laundering, bank policies, and completing required training. The role also involves developing a good working knowledge of job responsibilities, contributing to a favorable working climate, and handling customers professionally. This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent; some post-secondary education preferred.
  • One year full time in partial/full administrative role; familiarity with basic financial functions preferred, banking experience highly preferred.
  • Attention to detail, diligence, and self-motivation skills required to complete daily tasks in a timely and accurate fashion.
  • The ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule format.
  • The ability to utilize past experience as a tool for recognizing patterns and/or discrepancies, which may assist in the mitigation of risk that could result in customer or bank loss.
  • Language skills including but not limited to the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Mathematical and reasoning skills including but not limited to the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Reasoning ability include but not limited to ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Basic knowledge of bank services in order to actively assist in cross-selling products.

Responsibilities

  • Accept and process all customer facing transactions including but not limited to incoming/outgoing bank wires, incoming/outgoing ACH transactions, Mobile and Merchant Deposits, Canadian handling, Foreign Cash & Draft Orders, Chargebacks, NSF, Non Posts, Stop Payments, General Ledger entries and corrections, and ACH & Paper Returns.
  • Have detailed data entry standards for one-self, as well as the ability to verify the data entries of others, including but not limited to customer account maintenance, block maintenance, OFAC, NOC and return entries.
  • Troubleshoot and research both bank and customer related issues, as they arise, and utilize the proper resources for prompt resolution.
  • Prepare and remit annual reports or bank information related, but not limited to, escheatment, ACH audit, tax documentation, regulatory audits and examinations.
  • Understand and maintain employee access, including but not limited to, user access or controls on various banking systems, and password resets.
  • Utilize bank resources as necessary to complete daily responsibilities, while maintaining regulatory requirements for customer privacy, dual control, and bank security.
  • Filing and data retention, per regulatory standards.
  • Account balancing skills to assist in daily and monthly balancing of ATM, internal bank accounts, and correspondent banks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office computer software, including Word documents and Excel spreadsheets. Proficiency in web browsers (Edge/Chrome), and the use of email with calendar/tasks to coordinate events and facilitate responsibilities. Proficiency in Adobe PDF, including the ability to create, edit, sign, and share files. Proficiency in the use of copy equipment and the production and maintenance of electronic files. Ability to understand and learn other software programs.
  • Answer customer inquiries regarding service charges and account histories while complying with disclosure requirements, regulations and consumer privacy policies.
  • Maintains a professional manner, demonstrates team commitment, maintains a neat workstation, completes daily duties as assigned, allow for deviation from the expected as unforeseen issues arise.
  • Actively assists in achieving bank goals.
  • Adhering to and complying with all applicable, federal and state laws, regulations and guidance, including those related to Anti-Money Laundering (i.e. Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, etc.).
  • Adhering to Bank policies and procedures.
  • Identifying and reporting potential suspicious activity to the BSA/AML Officer.
  • Informs supervisor of important matters which must be known to effectively manage department operations.

  • Follows self-development and participates in educational programs to increase skills and knowledge in lending, policies, programs, and systems.
  • Assists in daily dual-control functions.
