About The Position

Plastipak Packaging is seeking an Operations Accounting Manager for their Plymouth, MI location. This role is responsible for ensuring corporate policies and procedures are followed at manufacturing sites, supervising site accounting leadership at North American Sites, and overseeing/analyzing annual manufacturing site plans. The manager will track costs and provide data for all performance variables, facilitate accounting conference calls and finance/controlling meetings, and develop/implement training programs for the site controlling group. They will also participate in site and regional management meetings, report findings of weaknesses in internal controls and non-compliance to the Controller - North America, and act as a communication focal point between sites and corporate. The role involves preparing ad hoc reports and projects, working on continuous improvement in procedures and systems, and traveling up to 25% for education and training to corporate locations worldwide.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Financial Analysis
  • 1 year of financial analysis experience
  • Experience includes analysis of product pricing related to the manufacturing of plastic rigid containers

Responsibilities

  • Ensure corporate policy/procedure followed at manufacturing sites
  • Supervise site accounting leadership at North American Sites
  • Oversee/analyze annual manufacturing site plans
  • Track costs and provide data for all performance variables including: labor, expenses, projects, fixed costs, unit costs, etc.
  • Facilitate accounting conference calls and Plastipak North America finance and controlling meetings
  • Develop and implement training programs for site controlling group
  • Participate in site and regional management meetings
  • Report findings of weakness in internal controls and non-compliance to corporate procedures to Controller - North America
  • Act as controlling communication focal point between sites and corporate
  • Prepare Ad hoc reports and projects as required by Controller – North America
  • Responsible for working on continuous improvement in all procedures and systems to eliminate waste and non-value added work
  • Develop and implement training programs for site controlling group
  • Travel for education and training to corporate locations worldwide up to 25%
