The Operating Room Stock Clerk is responsible for performing a variety of functions to ensure proper supplies are present based on surgical cases. This role ensures the accuracy of orders based on preference cards, replenishes and rotates items to maintain appropriate inventory, and works with staff on any substitutions. The clerk inspects products for damage and date to ensure sterility for procedures, processes return credit for all locations, and replaces products in the correct location. They deliver supplies to requesting departments in a timely manner, respond to urgent supply requests from active surgery, and maintain adequate levels of supplies for all supported departments. The position also involves inventorying identified par locations, restocking from pick lists, reclaiming overstock, and utilizing a handheld scanner for all par location scanning. The clerk ensures stock rotation for product freshness and identifies any product damage, verifies product location, and removes outdates from inventory. Cleaning and maintaining equipment and storage areas, restocking items daily, and stocking from the appropriate inventory based on shift are also key duties. The role requires interacting with staff in a professional manner, fielding calls for supplies, confirming and verifying requested items, and providing items to requestors while ensuring appropriate entry to surgical suites.
