Operating Room Attendant
About The Position
The Operating Room Attendant supports the operating room at Grosse Pointe Hospital, which includes ten operating rooms and a separate Cystoscopy Room. The department supports General, GYN, Urology, Neuro, and Orthopedics service lines. Its hybrid room has advanced technology, and the remaining operating rooms are undergoing renovation. Working under the direction of the Operating Room Attendant Supervisor, the attendant prepares rooms between procedures, cleans equipment and floors, replenishes supplies, retrieves patient beds, and makes requested runs to the Lab and Blood Bank. The role is expected to deliver service efficiently, effectively, and compassionately in accordance with the organization’s standards. The position is full-time, with 40 scheduled hours per week and variable shifts. The unit uses rotating 8- and 12-hour shifts, with some call during the week and on weekends.
Requirements
- High school diploma required.
Nice To Haves
- Six months to one year of prior operating room assistant experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Turn over operating rooms between procedures.
- Wipe down equipment in operating rooms and mop floors.
- Restock supplies and housekeeping carts.
- Pick up patient beds for the day's surgeries.
- Make requested runs to the Lab and Blood Bank.
- Provide service efficiently, effectively, and compassionately according to organizational standards.
