Attendant-Operating Room
About The Position
The Operating Room Attendant assists the Staff Nurse in caring for patients, helps meet the basic physical and psychological needs of patients and their families, and supports the unit’s environmental needs and efficiency. The role performs patient-care activities for surgical services, including transporting patients to and from the operating room, lifting and positioning patients on stretchers, delivering specimens to the laboratory, and greeting patients and families. The attendant performs related work as required or assigned by the Registered Professional Nurse. This is a part-time role in the OR Nursing Wakefield department in Bronx, New York. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM, with 7.5 scheduled daily hours. The listed hiring rate is $26.29 per hour and may change based on shift differential, experience, education, or other relevant factors.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Must be able to exert force frequently.
- One year of hospital work experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience, required.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Staff Nurse in patient care.

- Assist with the environmental needs of the unit and contribute to its efficiency and effectiveness.
- Transport patients to and from the operating room.
