About The Position
Boston Center for Plastic Surgery is hiring an Operating Room Assistant. The role supports operating room preparation and turnover, equipment and supply management, and instrument processing. The expected pay range is $20–$30 per hour.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience as a medical assistant (MA) is preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Pick cases.
- Stock rooms and maintain readiness.
- Set up rooms with appropriate equipment and supplies.
- Ensure stretchers, tables, and devices are set up in the correct positions with the correct accessories.
- Help turn over operating rooms between cases to allow the surgical staff a break or lunch.
- Check equipment availability and report malfunctions.
- Manage consignment and specialty supply inventory.
- Unload orders.
- Track inventory needs in the backroom.
- Clean instruments appropriately.
- Pack kits accurately.
- Run Bowie-Dick tests and biologics.
