About The Position

Boston Center for Plastic Surgery is hiring an Operating Room Assistant to support operating room preparation, equipment and supply management, and instrumentation. The role includes preparing rooms and supplies for surgical cases, keeping rooms ready, and helping turn over operating rooms between cases.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience as a medical assistant (MA) is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Pick cases.
• Stock rooms and maintain readiness.
• Set up rooms with appropriate equipment and supplies.
• Ensure stretchers, tables, and devices are positioned correctly and fitted with the correct accessories.
• Help turn over operating rooms between cases to allow surgical staff a break or lunch.
• Check equipment availability and report malfunctions.
• Manage consignment and specialty supply inventory.
• Unload orders.
• Track inventory needs in the backroom.
• Clean instruments appropriately.
• Pack kits accurately.
• Run Bowie Dicks and biologics.
