Operating Room Assistant - 1.0 FTE Day
About The Position
The Operating Room Assistant functions as a member of the surgical team under the direct supervision and direction of a registered perioperative nurse. The role supports operating room operations by assisting the anesthesia provider; cleaning and preparing operating rooms; safely transporting patients; retrieving and decontaminating equipment; stocking general supplies in operating rooms and the work room; and processing and maintaining equipment, supplies, instruments, and other related equipment as needed. This is a full-time, 1.0 FTE day-shift position at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Employees must participate in a holiday on-call rotation, with assignments scheduled according to departmental needs and operational requirements. Participation is a condition of the position.
Requirements
- National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
- One year of clinical experience in an accredited hospital with operating room experience.
