About The Position

The University of Tennessee Health Science Center, College of Medicine-Chattanooga is seeking a full-time, non-tenured Open Rank Professor. This position offers an opportunity to practice in a high-acuity environment within a Level I trauma center while contributing to the missions of clinical care, education, and research.

Requirements

• MD or equivalent degree.
• Board certified in Trauma/Surgical Critical Care Surgery.
• Must be licensed or license eligible in Tennessee.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive clinical care in trauma, emergency general surgery, and surgical critical care, including operative and ICU management.
• Participate in trauma call coverage and multidisciplinary critical care teams.
• Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows within an ACGME-accredited training program.
• Engage in scholarly activity, including clinical outcomes research, quality improvement, and academic dissemination.
• Contribute to departmental, institutional, and trauma system initiatives.
