About The Position

The Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. The primary appointment would be Anesthesiology & Critical Care Medicine to serve as Program Director for the Master of Science in Anesthesia program. The Program Director will be responsible for the strategic planning, administration, and continuous improvement of the curriculum to ensure student success, faculty excellence, and adherence to accreditation standards. Curriculum & Strategic Leadership: Oversee the development, implementation, and review of the program curriculum to ensure currency, rigor, and compliance with standards. Faculty Management: Hire, mentor, and evaluate full-time and part-time faculty members. Student Support & Administration: manage student recruitment, admissions review, and advising, ensuring retention and progression through graduation. Accreditation & Assessment: Guide program assessment processes, create reports for accrediting bodies, and ensure compliance with internal and external regulations. Operational Management: Manage program budgets, resources, and daily operations. This position will be 90% education Program Director duties and 10% clinical CAA duties. Albuquerque, New Mexico boasts 300+ sunny days per year and is a prime location for outdoor activities such as climbing, hiking, skiing, and more! Albuquerque alone offers more than 400 miles of hiking trails.

Requirements

  • CAA Degree
  • Administrative and Education experience in an Academic Medical environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as Program Director or Assistant Program Director
  • 3-5 years experience as a CAA
  • Advanced degree in education or related field
  • Experience coordinating clinical education or simulation: Experience developing and managing clinical rotations
  • A demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the university's mission to serve local and global communities.
