About The Position

The Department of Family and Community Medicine at The University of New Mexico seeks Practitioner Educator track faculty members for the Physician Assistant (PA) Program. This role involves instructional duties such as course design, development, teaching, evaluation, and planning, as well as course coordination, test writing and grading, and clinical responsibilities. PA Program faculty are integral to all stages of a student's PA education, from admissions through didactic and clinical education. The position includes facilitating problem-based learning sessions, serving as a student advisor, and actively participating in the program's self-assessment process. Additional duties may be negotiated with the Program Director, such as Community Outreach Coordination and interprofessional education.

Requirements

Current NCCPA certification
Master’s Degree
Minimum four years clinical experience
Eligible to obtain NM state PA license
Must be eligible to work in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

Clinical experience in primary care setting
Experience teaching MD or PA students in preclinical didactic course(s)
Experience teaching/precepting MD or PA students in the clinical setting
Experience in writing programmatic reports
