The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), College of Medicine, Department of Radiation Medicine is seeking a full-time radiation oncologist to work at a new cancer center in Nexton, South Carolina. This satellite facility is part of MUSC Health and is located 24 miles northwest of the main MUSC campus in Charleston. The physician will hold faculty rank based on experience and have opportunities to participate in clinical trials, resident education, and multidisciplinary patient care. The new facility is equipped with modern technology, including a Varian TrueBeam linear accelerator, Siemens CT-simulator, ARIA, EPIC EMR, and Eclipse treatment planning system. The center has full-time onsite nursing and physics support, with hybrid coverage for dosimetry. The MUSC flagship campus in Charleston offers additional treatment modalities and expertise, including multiple Varian TrueBeam accelerators, a GammaKnife unit, a Tomotherapy unit, two CT/Simulators, various treatment planning platforms, and robust LDR and HDR brachytherapy programs. The department also supports accredited residency programs for physicians and physicists.
