About The Position
The Division of Clinical Immunology & Rheumatology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking clinician educators for various faculty positions. These roles focus on the basic mechanisms of rheumatic and autoimmune diseases. The Division is a highly-ranked program with expertise in RA, SLE, vasculitis, scleroderma, and osteoporosis. It is affiliated with the UAB Comprehensive Arthritis, Musculoskeletal, Bone, and Autoimmunity Center, fostering a collaborative environment with strong multidisciplinary teams. UAB offers excellent infrastructure for clinical and basic research, with notable programs in genetics, outcomes research, and basic immunology. The Division is expanding patient cohorts to enhance clinical and translational research. The positions available are for clinician educators interested in clinical care and teaching, clinical investigators focusing on epidemiology, outcomes, and experimental therapeutics, and PhD investigators and physician-scientists studying fundamental mechanisms of arthritis and autoimmunity in human and animal models. Requirements
- MD, PhD, or similar doctoral degree
- Physicians must be board certified or board eligible in Rheumatology
- Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Alabama
Responsibilities
- Clinical care and teaching (for clinician educators)
- Epidemiology, outcomes, and/or testing experimental therapeutics in rheumatic and autoimmune diseases (for clinical investigators)
- Fundamental mechanisms of arthritis and autoimmunity in humans and animal models (for PhD investigators and physician-scientists)
