About The Position

Nevada Gold Mines (NGM) is seeking an Open Pit Drill & Shovel Maintenance Technician at its Cortez operations. This role is part of the Maintenance team and is responsible for completing routine maintenance activities to ensure the availability and safe functioning of large mining and support equipment fleets. Requirements

Basic knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics required
Ability to work safely and effectively with minimal supervision required
Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of people required
Ability to accomplish strenuous physical labor under all weather conditions required
Lift at least 50 lbs. required
Proven safe work record with belief and value seen in courageous leadership model required
Ability to be an initial team member in a growing, fast paced environment, and support team in attainment of safety, environmental, equipment protection and production goals with a proven safety record required
Housekeeping standards are maintained to a high level required
Good written and verbal communication skills required

Nice To Haves

Two (2) plus years of experience in maintenance of mobile, farm, trucking, aircraft, military or support equipment preferred
Experience handling tires preferred

Responsibilities

Complete routine maintenance activities for the purpose of ensuring the availability and safe functioning of large mining, support equipment fleets
Maintain shop areas, tooling and service vehicles to ensure a clean and safe work environment
Perform daily pre-shift work inspections and participate in individual and group hazard identification processes
Perform other duties as assigned.
