About The Position

This role is responsible for the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment, specifically electric shovels and various drills. The position involves conducting work area exams to identify and correct hazardous conditions, performing diagnostic tests using specialized equipment, and carrying out preventive maintenance, rebuilds, and breakdown repairs. Additionally, the role may require filling in for the fuel and lube truck, including weekend duties. The schedule is primarily day shift, Monday through Friday, but may include afternoon shifts, weekend work, overtime, and call-outs, with the schedule subject to change.

Requirements

  • Experience with electric shovels and various drills.
  • Proficiency in using scanners and other electronic/mechanical testing equipment.
  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance, rebuilds, and breakdown repairs on heavy equipment.
  • Willingness to work day shift, afternoon shift, and weekends as required.
  • Availability for overtime and call-outs.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct work area exam for assigned area(s) to identify hazardous conditions that may pose a danger to personnel and take necessary steps to correct identified conditions.
  • Inspect equipment and perform diagnostics tests, including the use of scanners and other electronic/mechanical testing equipment.
  • Repair heavy equipment including electric shovels and various drills, including preventive maintenance, rebuilds and breakdowns.
  • Fill in for the fuel and lube truck as needed, including required weekends.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
