About The Position

This role is responsible for maintaining drills and shovels. Primary duties include conducting work area exams to identify and correct hazardous conditions, inspecting and diagnosing equipment using scanners and other testing equipment, and repairing heavy equipment such as electric shovels and various drills. This includes performing preventive maintenance, rebuilds, and breakdowns. The position may also require filling in for the fuel and lube truck, including weekend duties, and performing other assigned tasks.

Requirements

  • Strong mechanical and welding background.
  • Ability to complete work tasks under various adverse weather conditions.
  • Ability to be self-directed, team-oriented and work with minimum supervision required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodations required.
  • Excellent attendance record required.
  • Proven safe work record required.
  • Team player, leadership and good interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to work callouts and weekends.
  • Must be able to obtain the required tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Any special licenses’, certifications, and schooling, along with maintenance cross-training and any overtime shifts worked in maintenance will also be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct work area exam for assigned area(s) to identify hazardous conditions that may pose a danger to personnel and take necessary steps to correct identified conditions.
  • Inspect equipment and perform diagnostics tests, including the use of scanners and other electronic/mechanical testing equipment.
  • Repair heavy equipment including electric shovels and various drills, including preventive maintenance, rebuilds and breakdowns.
  • Fill in for the fuel and lube truck as needed, including required weekends.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
