About The Position

In this role, you will report to the Territory Area Manager and will work closely with the Avantor’s Advanced Laboratory Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 3+ years of experience in inventory management, procurement, or related operations
  • Experience in laboratory, GMP, or regulated environments strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to manage operations and solve complex issues independently
  • Experience with inventory and procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Citrix, VWR+, ChemSW, or similar platforms)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Microsoft Teams preferred
  • Familiarity with hazardous material handling and shipping documentation
  • Strong data tracking, reporting, and analysis capabilities
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills with close attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
  • Effective communication and customer service skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to influence and guide workflows
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and performance standards
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Comfortable working in lab and/or warehouse environments

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience in regulated, GMP, or controlled environments is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and organize daily inventory and material management activities to ensure seamless operations across customer sites.
  • Streamline processes and ensure work is executed efficiently, consistently, and in alignment with established standards.
  • Actively contribute to inventory, procurement, and material handling tasks while coordinating broader operational activities.
  • Manage a wide range of critical lab materials, including consumables, chemicals, reagents, and solvents, ensuring proper handling, storage, and availability.
  • Independently resolve complex operational issues requiring a deep understanding of laboratory processes and inventory systems.
  • Collect, analyze, and report inventory data; identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for process improvements.
  • Proactively communicate with internal teams and customers to support operational needs, resolve issues, and influence positive outcomes.
  • Apply experience-based judgment and operational insight to make informed decisions that support business objectives.
  • Identify inefficiencies and implement process enhancements to improve service quality, accuracy, and operational performance.
