About The Position

In this role, you will report to the Territory Area Manager and will work closely with the Avantor’s Advanced Laboratory Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 1–2+ years of experience in inventory management, procurement, or related operations preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer use
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Comfortable working in lab and/or warehouse environments
  • Ability to meet safety, quality, and performance standards
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to follow established processes and procedures
  • Effective communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate effectively
  • Willingness to learn and develop operational knowledge

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Exposure to laboratory or regulated environments (e.g., GMP) is a plus
  • Familiarity with inventory or procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms) preferred
  • Basic understanding of order tracking and inventory processes
  • Familiarity with hazardous material handling and shipping procedures is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inventory tasks, including receiving, stocking, tracking, cycle counting, and maintaining accurate inventory records for consumables, chemicals, and lab supplies.
  • Enter and track orders, monitor backorders, assist with expediting shipments, and maintain purchasing documentation.
  • Process inbound and outbound shipments, prepare shipping documentation, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, including hazardous materials handling.
  • Provide responsive support to internal teams and customers by fulfilling requests, answering inquiries, and communicating order or inventory status updates.
  • Accurately input data into inventory and procurement systems and maintain organized records in accordance with company standards.
  • Use company and customer systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Citrix, VWR+, ChemSW) to complete daily tasks and maintain data accuracy.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety guidelines, and quality standards in all activities.
  • Assist with inventory audits, reporting, and other duties as assigned to support overall site operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
