About The Position

In this role, you will report to the supervisor of site services and will work closely with the Avantor’s Lab and Production Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science. Avantor’s Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • 2+ years of customer service, inventory replenishment, or material handling experience
  • Microsoft Office experience preferred
  • Driver's license required and reliable form of transportation
  • Mileage reimbursement to travel between sites for cross-training
  • Must be able to lift to 50lbs
  • Strong communication skills to speak with internal and stakeholder associates
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Self-manage and work independently, but also be able to work on a team

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working in a GMP facility is strongly desired

Responsibilities

  • Manage liquified and compressed gas operations to include monitoring consumption, exchanges, filling, and order submissions.
  • Perform order-related tasks such as replenishing inventory, managing deliveries, and expediting shipments.
  • Purchasing functions including but not limited to: back order reporting and expediting, direct factory shipments, 3rd party support, managing quotes, document control, records maintenance, and resolving open invoices or pricing issues.
  • Responsible for all customer service related functions including but not limited to: order entry, reporting, maintaining metrics, and cost savings tracking.
  • Managing consigned, non-consigned, customer owned or 3rd party inventory.
  • Track daily usage and coordinate material movement, ensuring safety, accuracy and compliance.
  • Provide daily customer service support, maintaining clear communication with clients regarding inventory availability and needs.
  • Submit order entries to third party supplies, maintain performance metrics, and track cost-saving initiatives.
  • Safely manage hazardous materials and ensure compliance with storage regulations.
  • Serve as a liaison with customer contacts, including purchasing directors, facility managers, and plant leadership.
  • Update and maintain site specific documentation (e.g. Standard Operating Procedures and Risk Management matrixes).
  • Utilize multiple systems (e.g., SAP, Citrix, Avantor Inventory Management Systems, ChemSW, and customer-specific platforms) to fulfill job duties.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
