About The Position

The Online Learning Intern will support the Knight Center’s distance learning program by assisting with the production and quality control of online journalism courses offered through JournalismCourses.org. The intern will work closely with the program manager to help edit course transcripts and video lessons, contribute training ideas, and support the delivery of training programs for journalists worldwide. As a Knight Center intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience in online education and digital journalism training while working with an internationally recognized journalism program.

Requirements

  • Current undergraduate student at UT Austin
  • Open to work study and non-work study
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Creativity and attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • U.S. work authorization required

Nice To Haves

  • Fluent in speaking and writing in English and Spanish (and/or Portuguese)
  • Experience working with journalism or media-related content
  • Interest in international journalism training and media education

Responsibilities

  • Copyedit transcripts for online journalism course videos
  • Support the organization and maintenance of online course materials
  • Assist with certificate data and emails
  • Communicate regularly with the Online Courses Manager and Online Courses Associate regarding daily and weekly tasks
  • Complete assignments accurately and on deadline
  • Help ensure high-quality learning experiences for a global audience of journalists and communicators
  • Assist with other tasks as needed
