About The Position

The Online Grocery Pick-Up Clerk, also referred to as an In-Store Grocery Shopper, selects and gathers products for customers’ online orders efficiently while ensuring freshness and quality. The role includes assembling and processing orders, handling coupons and payment, communicating about substitutions or exceptions, and delivering and loading orders into customers’ cars at pickup. The clerk provides a positive customer experience and demonstrates the company’s values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Requirements

Ability to work without supervision.
Ability to read shelf tags.
Basic math skills, including counting, addition, and subtraction.

Responsibilities

Select and gather products for online orders efficiently, ensuring freshness and quality.
Initiate and complete the product-selection process for customer orders.
Assemble orders, process coupons and payment, and deliver and load orders into customers’ cars at pickup.
Scan and bag orders while following bagging standards.
Communicate substitutions or order exceptions to customers at pickup.
Meet or exceed customer expectations for ease of shopping, variety, freshness, and cleanliness.
Follow applicable laws, food-safety procedures, and company guidelines.
Receive orders from the Order Selector according to guidelines and store products in appropriate temperature zones.
Read and follow directions in order notes.
Communicate with customers by portable phone and respond professionally and promptly.
Retrieve orders from staging locations, verify accuracy, and load orders into customers’ cars.
Process orders through the point-of-sale system.
Follow policies and procedures for selecting substitutions when items are out of stock.
Maintain the organization and cleanliness of staging areas and equipment.
Report pricing, scanning, item-location, and invalid temperature-type discrepancies to the store e-Commerce supervisor.
Inspect equipment and notify the Pick-Up supervisor or store management when repairs are needed.
Perform required opening and closing procedures.
Assist in training new e-Commerce team members.
Meet or exceed productivity standards.
Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment and manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively.
Handle customer and business information honestly and with integrity; follow directions and seek assistance as needed.
