About The Position

This position is for an Online Assistant/Associate Clinical Professor. The role involves teaching in asynchronous programs and potentially synchronous settings, with a focus on social work education. The professor will be expected to contribute to curriculum development, instructional design, and student support services within an online learning environment.

Requirements

  • Master of Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE accredited institution.
  • PhD in Social Work or Doctorate in Social Work.
  • 2 years post-MSW social work practitioner experience.
  • 2-year teaching experience in social work education (full-time or part-time) in asynchronous programs.
  • Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.

Nice To Haves

  • PhD in Social Work.
  • 2 or more years of experience in social work education, teaching asynchronously and synchronously.
  • Practice experience within one or more of the following areas: Research methods, Medical/hospital social work, Community health, Behavioral health and integrated systems, Program evaluation and management, Policy and advocacy work.
  • Demonstrated experience in online curriculum development and instructional design.
  • Experience in academic advising and student support services.
  • Experience with online learning management systems, education platforms and technologies.
  • Experience with online pedagogy and tools.
  • Content expertise in generalist or specialized courses including but not limited to: Research methods, Health and social welfare policy and advocacy, Research and evaluation, Healthcare-focused social work practice, Behavioral health-focused social work practice, Social work within health and aging, School-based social work practice, Substance use assessment and treatment.
  • Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.

Responsibilities

  • Teach in asynchronous programs.
  • Teach in synchronous programs (preferred).
  • Develop online curriculum.
  • Provide instructional design.
  • Offer academic advising and student support services.
  • Utilize online learning management systems, education platforms, and technologies.
  • Integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in work.
  • Advance social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
