About The Position

Southern New Hampshire University is seeking online adjunct faculty for its Criminal Justice program within Global Campus. This remote position involves engaging students in an asynchronous and inclusive learning environment by providing guidance, resources, instruction, and feedback in pre-developed online courses. The goal is to support students in achieving their learning and career goals. The role requires instructors to prioritize student engagement, share expertise, offer constructive feedback, and facilitate discussions. Currently, there is a need for instructors for the CJ681 - Terrorist Techniques and Counterterrorism course. The university emphasizes a people-centered strategy and values diverse industry experience, backgrounds, and skills.

Requirements

Master's degree in Criminal Justice or related field
5 years or more of professional experience in Terror/Counterterrorism; Homeland Security; FBI; Intel related experience

Responsibilities

Engage students in an asynchronous and inclusive learning environment by providing guidance and resources in a pre-developed online course.
Support students by providing instruction, feedback, and experiential and application-based learning.
Prioritize Student Engagement – Work with students by responding within set timeframes and reaching out to students needing additional support.
Recognize student needs holistically and connect them with resources.
Encourage participation, collaboration, and faculty-student relationships to enhance learning and build skills.
Stay current in your field of expertise, share your experience, and recommend relevant supplementary materials to enhance student understanding of course content.
Find accessible ways to explain complex topics.
Evaluate student work and provide individualized, constructive feedback within set timeframes to promote growth and mastery of course outcomes.
Encourage student interaction through active participation in online discussions while promoting an inclusive, engaging, and respectful environment that promotes open dialogue and diverse perspectives.
