About The Position

This is a full-time position for an Oncology Staff Nurse at Grand Valley Oncology. The role emphasizes family-centered care, teamwork and collaboration, evidence-based practice, quality improvement, safety, informatics, and leadership. Nurses are expected to be agents of change, participate in committees and professional development, and support organizational goals while also engaging with professional and community groups.

Requirements

2 years of Oncology experience
RN License
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited school of nursing
BLS from American Heart Association or American Red Cross with at least 3 months left before expiration is required upon hire

Responsibilities

Recognize the patient or designee as the source of control and full partner in providing compassionate and coordinated care based on respect for patient’s preferences, values, and needs.
Function effectively within nursing and inter-professional teams, fostering open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision-making to achieve quality patient care.
Integrate best current evidence with clinical expertise and patient/family preferences and values for delivery of optimal health care.
Use data to monitor the outcomes of care processes and use improvement methods to design and test changes to continuously improve the quality and safety of healthcare systems.
Minimize risk of harm to patients and providers through both system effectiveness and individual performance.
Use information and technology to communicate, manage knowledge, mitigate error, and support decision-making.
Agents of change within the organization, involved in committees, professional development, and support organizational goals, as well as, active participants in the community. Nurses support organizational goals, advance the nursing profession, and enhance professional development by extending their influence to professional and community groups.
