About The Position

This opportunity supports an established outpatient oncology clinic at East Jefferson General Hospital. As an Oncology NP or PA, you'll build long-term relationships with patients throughout their cancer journey. You'll have the opportunity to work independently while partnering closely with physicians and an interdisciplinary care team to deliver exceptional care and support. You will manage your own patient panel in an outpatient Hematology & Oncology setting, assess, diagnose, and treat patients within your scope of practice, review laboratory results and coordinate appropriate follow-up care, develop and implement individualized treatment plans, collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other care team members, monitor patient conditions and evaluate responses to treatment interventions, communicate with patients and families regarding care plans, treatment progress, and concerns, respond to patient calls and messages promptly, recognize and respond to clinical emergencies, maintain accurate and timely documentation, participate in daily huddles, provider meetings, and team initiatives, and support quality, safety, regulatory, and infection prevention standards to ensure continuity of care and an exceptional patient experience.

Requirements

Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program, or Physician Assistant Program
Current Louisiana APRN License or Louisiana Physician Assistant License
Current American Heart Association BLS Certification
Current ACLS Certification

Nice To Haves

Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification
Oncology, Hematology, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or related advanced practice experience
Experience managing complex chronic disease populations

Responsibilities
