About The Position

The Oncology Nurse Educator (ONE) uses deep knowledge of oncology disease states and Bayer products to serve as a liaison, educator, and promotional conduit to healthcare professionals. The role delivers value to key accounts and supports shared organizational objectives. Coverage includes Orange County, California; San Diego, California; and Hawaii. The preferred location is Orange County, though strong candidates in San Diego may be considered. The candidate must live within the territory and should expect to travel up to 75% within it. The ONE educates healthcare professionals about Bayer products and the oncology disease states for which they are indicated, including patient identification, dosing, and safe and effective use. The role works with internal and external stakeholders to develop and deliver account-based clinical education, coordinate strategies, support product education, and maintain relationships with oncology and urology professionals.

Requirements

Current nursing license, such as RN, NP, or APN.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing or higher.
At least 3–5 years of clinical oncology experience with strong, demonstrable clinical acumen.
Self-starter mentality.

Business acumen.

Strong cross-functional collaboration and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of oncology and/or urology practices within the territory.
Passion and self-motivation.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Ability to handle extensive travel requirements of 60–75%.
Ability to travel as necessary, including overnight and/or weekend travel.
Must be domiciled within the territory.

Nice To Haves

Certification in Oncology Nursing (OCN).
Urology experience.
Previous pharmaceutical industry experience.
Experience launching new products and/or indications, preferably in oncology.
Experience working in academic centers and large community oncology and/or urology practices.

Responsibilities

Articulate product safety and efficacy data, relevant cancer disease states, and topics in oncology nursing care.
Build relationships in key accounts, understand nursing stakeholder priorities, and develop clinical education plans that meet customer needs and support positive business outcomes.
Collaborate with Area General Managers, Regional Account Directors, Oncology Regional Marketers, Radiotherapeutic Specialists, and field sales team members on account strategies, priorities, and education initiatives.
Educate healthcare professionals on therapeutic-area products and indicated oncology disease states, including appropriate patient identification, dosing, and safe and effective use.
Collaborate with cross-functional partners on planning, execution, and follow-through of account-based initiatives; manage nursing tactics and delivery timelines.
Participate actively in regional field team meetings and activities.
Communicate account updates regularly to cross-functional field partners.
Coordinate strategies with internal and external stakeholders to support impactful outcomes from franchise-product education.
Interact with healthcare professionals to build company rapport, gain support for promoted products, and address issues.
Build productive internal relationships and work collaboratively with cross-functional partners.
Identify, build, and maintain long-term relationships with key opinion leaders, mid-level providers, advanced practice providers, and oncology and urology nursing professionals.
Serve as an education conduit and product expert for internal and external business partners.
Maintain working relationships with brand teams and assist with development of product and disease-state education materials.
