About The Position
The Division of Hematology and Oncology at the Medical College of Wisconsin is seeking candidates for a hybrid Oncologic Hospitalist/Nocturnist faculty position. This role involves providing 24-hour inpatient care to solid tumor oncology patients and those requiring management of hematologic malignancies. The service admits approximately 1,500 patients annually. The position operates under a hybrid model, with collaborative care provided by both hospitalists and oncology faculty. Oncologic hospitalists, trained in Internal Medicine, manage the day-to-day care, while oncologists provide specialized expertise. The care delivery team also includes advanced practice providers, fellows, and housestaff. Successful candidates will have opportunities to teach students and housestaff, and potentially participate in Division research programs, including clinical trials.
Requirements
- Board certified/board eligible in internal medicine.
- Excellent clinical skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide 24-hour inpatient care to solid tumor oncology patients.
- Manage patients requiring management of malignancies of the hematopoietic system.
- Collaborate with hematology and oncology providers.
- Manage the day-to-day care of patients.
