About The Position

The On Premise Account Manager is responsible for servicing assigned routes, ensuring product is stocked, rotated, and displayed according to company standards. This role involves direct interaction with retailers to advise on sales, merchandising, and pricing, as well as implementing sales and marketing programs. The position requires a strong understanding of the brewing industry, SKU management, and the ability to forecast sales based on inventory data. The Account Manager will also be responsible for managing expenses, adhering to all company policies and regulations, and maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift 25-30 lbs. packaged beer and 160 lbs. kegs.
  • Knowledge of the brewing industry.
  • Strategic planning skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • SKU management skills at the retail store level.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with all internal and external customers.
  • Ability to interact and negotiate with all levels within Cone Distributing, retail establishments, and suppliers.
  • Ability to learn and work in route accounting software.
  • Capability of accurately counting and entering account inventories.
  • Aptitude to interpret inventory numbers to produce an accurate sales forecast.
  • Ability to understand and sell the entire portfolio, beer, wine, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages.
  • Good math skills.
  • Must be able to pass drug and background check.

Nice To Haves

  • 2-year degree preferred.
  • Experience in the field + education will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Report to work by 8 AM at the latest, depending on the route schedule, and work until the entire route is serviced.
  • Participate in weekend activities as scheduled; find a replacement if unable to attend assigned event.
  • Properly stock coolers, back stock, shelves, and all other selling areas to capacity.
  • Maintain proper rotation standards on an ongoing basis, including servicing coolers and deep wells.
  • Learn and work in route accounting software.
  • Accurately count and enter account inventories and interpret inventory numbers to produce an accurate sales forecast.
  • Meet or exceed monthly company average of inventory levels.
  • Understand and sell the entire portfolio: beer, wine, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages.
  • Work with Red Bull counterparts to ensure execution against volume, distribution, and merchandising standards.
  • Become Beer Server certified within a preset time.
  • Implement sales and marketing programs.
  • Ensure Quality Assurance Policy is understood and adhered to each month.
  • Strictly follow code date systems.
  • Adhere to the Retail Look/10 Second Look policy.
  • Ensure all paper and permanent Point of Sale is used in the proper manner and quantity.
  • Assist with other tasks as appropriate and/or necessary, such as hot shots, deliveries, hanging of POS, etc.
  • Meet or exceed the monthly company average of all Monthly Business Objectives.
  • Be aware of all competitive activity and opportunities to increase sales in accounts.
  • Request competitors’ space for new placements/draft handles or for expanding existing placements.
  • Attend and conduct On-Premise samplings and promotions within the assigned account base.
  • Manage expenses within all assigned budgets.
  • Advise and train retailers and their employees in the proper methods of selling, merchandising, and pricing of products.
  • Share information with other employees at sales meetings that will benefit the company.
  • Ensure all orders are available for downloading by the assigned times.
  • Use Smart Phones, iPads, or other similar electronic devices in the performance of job duties.
  • Properly maintain, operate, protect from damage, and return all issued equipment (phones, handhelds, vehicles, etc.).
  • Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations regarding the sale and merchandising of malt beverages.
  • Conduct all activities within the guidelines of all company policies and procedures.
  • Dress and maintain personal appearance in a professional manner and according to company policy.
  • Report all accidents and injuries to the On-Premise Manager.
  • Attend all staff and monthly sales meetings as scheduled.
  • Follow safety rules and in the use of equipment daily.
  • Maintain a safe driving record.
  • Report any driving-related issues to HR immediately.
  • Participate, communicate, and interact with Team Members, Vendors, and Customers in a manner that will consistently enhance all Team Cone Core Values.
