About The Position

This is a Summer I 2026 On Campus Student Employee position at the Crowley Campus of South Louisiana Community College. The role is within the Academic & Student Affairs department and is an Unclassified - Student type of appointment. The appointment dates are from July 1, 2026, to July 31, 2026. The salary is $10 per hour, with a maximum of 25 hours per week. The position involves providing outstanding service to students and customers, offering day-to-day administrative and office support, communicating effectively via telephone, email, and in person, and completing tasks to develop professional skills. The student will work independently and within a team on projects, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills for sensitive situations. Other duties include performing assigned tasks, having the ability to work the necessary hours, attending mandatory meetings, and maintaining regular attendance. The Federal Work Study Experience Learning Outcomes include gaining knowledge of employee characteristics, understanding employment processes, developing customer service and transferable work skills, and learning practical work tenets for success in a professional office environment.

Requirements

  • Applicant must be a current SoLAcc student.
  • Enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours for the Fall 2026 semester.
  • Have a completed 2026-2027 FAFSA on file with SoLAcc.
  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Passing pre-employment criminal background screen is required as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Providing outstanding service to students and other internal and external customers.
  • Providing day-to-day administrative and office support for the assigned department.
  • Communicating effectively with students and others as directed via telephone, email, and in face-to-face settings.
  • Completing a diverse set of tasks designed to develop and strengthen knowledge and skills related to employment in a professional environment.
  • Working independently within a team on special and ongoing projects.
  • Demonstrating a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
  • Ability and endurance necessary to work the hours needed to complete the job.
  • Attendance at all mandatory meetings.
