About The Position

Serve guests in a hospitable manner to ensure a positive guest experience during the arrival and departure process. This position is critical to providing the guest with a positive initial and final impression.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
• Ability to communicate with guests, respond to questions, knowledge of hotel service, provide directions to nearby local attractions, area events and activities.
• Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy.
• Ability to ascertain information from luggage tags and claim checks to write numbers and names on claim checks and rooming lists.
• Ability to drive vans, trucks and automobiles, both manual and automatic transmissions with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Must have an excellent driving record as verified by a Motor Vehicle Report.
• Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry or otherwise move packages, boxes and luggage with sufficient manual dexterity in both hands to be able to load and unload luggage up to 75 lbs with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Ability to stand, walk and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Ability to be in constant motion - run for vehicles throughout shift with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, walking and running with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Greet all arriving and departing guests in a friendly, warm, and sincere manner.
• Open vehicle and hotel doors.
• Determine and utilize guest names during interactions.
• Park and retrieve guest vehicles in a timely and courteous manner, using claim tickets to document vehicle damage, arrival/departure dates, valet/self-parking options, and vehicle location.
• Move from door post to and from other guest service areas throughout the hotel in response to customer needs.
• Read luggage tags, use guest names, and utilize claim tickets for appropriate delivery/storage of luggage and packages. Place packages/luggage onto baggage carts or in a secure area for delivery to the guest or guest room.
• Perform check-in and check-out calls, including luggage handling and escorting guests to/from their rooms.
• Explain all hotel facilities, their locations, hours of operation, and answer related questions.
• Hail taxis as needed and assist guests with transportation acquisition.
• Perform pick-ups and drop-offs for guests using the guest van transportation service, ensuring timely and friendly service.
• Perform all vehicle inspections and safety checks in accordance with hotel guidelines.
• Maintain the cleanliness of guest service areas, including the lobby entrance, valet parking area, parking garage structure, and luggage storage areas.
• Maintain cleanliness of entrance doors and windows.
• Maintain an organized and clean appearance in all work areas.
• Deliver messages, valet/laundry items, and ironing boards to guest rooms.
• Post the daily events on the appropriate lobby location.
• Respond to guest questions and provide information on local attractions, events, and daily activities in the hotel.
• Understand group resumes and be aware of in-house VIPs and repeat guests, greeting them by name and thanking them for their patronage.
• Maintain an open communication line through all shifts by proper use of the inter-shift log.
• Maintain knowledge of all Emergency Procedures, including guest-related responsibilities and evacuation procedures.
• Assist in the event of an emergency.
